Merrimack’s M.S. in Finance

Foundational Core (8 credits)

If you do not have an undergraduate degree in business/finance or relevant work experience, the foundational coursework gives you the framework needed to succeed in the  more complex finance coursework.

Finance Core (16 credits)

The program is intentionally designed to build a strong set of skills across a variety of finance concepts.

Advanced Finance Electives (8 credits)

Students can choose two courses that align with their professional goals. Your academic advisor and The Girard School of Business graduate team will inform you of course options and help you decide which options are best for you. 

Open Electives (Minimum of 8 Credits)

The remaining electives are used to supplement and complement your finance courses and can be utilized to expand your skills in other genres of business. The choice is yours. Merrimack currently offers three possible tracks, however, you have the option to choose open electives that fit your goals and meet your needs.

Financial Analytics Track

Choose coursework to supplement your technical knowledge. Learn additional data modeling tools to analyze and answer business questions. 

Financial Leadership Track

Choose coursework to enhance your expertise in strategic planning, communicating vision, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Accounting Track

Choose coursework to supplement your skills in building budgets and financial statements, running financial ratios, and more.

Additional Electives

A track is not required to earn your M.S. in Finance. Utilize the remaining credits by completing additional advanced financial coursework or choosing coursework through The Girard School of Business. Some courses may require prerequisite coursework or relevant experience.
