Master of Science in Management Coursework


Merrimack’s 32-credit Master’s in Management (MSM) includes 2028 credits of advanced management courses that develop skills and competencies in business analytics, finance, human resources, leadership, strategy, marketing, accounting and more. 

The remaining credits are open electives that are used to supplement and complement your management courses and can be utilized to expand your skills in other genres of business. The choice is yours. Merrimack currently offers specialized concentrations across a variety of disciplines. However, you have the option to choose electives that fit your goals and meet your needs.

Faculty Spotlight

Dr. Roberto Santos, Assistant Professor of Practice

Prior to joining Merrimack College, Dr. Santos was a project engineer for 18 years at a global engineering and manufacturing company where he was involved in product development, R&D, and project management. He currently holds 23 U.S. patents along with several foreign patents. He has also worked as a business consultant. This diversity of expertise translates into enhanced student outcomes as he combines theoretical knowledge with practical experience, which allows him to teach complex topics in an easy to understand and approachable manner.

His research has been published in books and business journals and has been presented at national and international conferences. His primary research interests lie at the intersection of three domains: technological innovation, venture financing, and global strategy. In particular, he is passionate about researching innovation and entrepreneurship and how new knowledge is produced via venture capital investments.

Dr. Santos was a recipient of the Academy of Management Best Paper nomination, Paul R. Lawrence Fellowship, Eastern Academy of Management Outstanding Reviewer Award, Manning School of Business Doctoral Teaching Award, and a CEIBS-Cathay Cross-Border Private Equity Research Fund Grant.

Dr. Santos holds a Ph.D. in Business Administration, an M.S. in Technology Commercialization, and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering.
